Morocco can be visited throughout the year. Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are generally the most comfortable seasons for exploring the mountains, desert and coast.

Is this tour suitable for beginners?

Yes. The tour is suitable for travellers with a reasonable level of fitness. It includes two hiking experiences, including an approximately three-hour hike in Tafraoute.

Do I need hiking experience?

No previous hiking experience is required. However, comfortable walking shoes and a basic level of fitness are recommended.

What should I pack for the trip?

We recommend comfortable walking shoes, light clothing, a warm jacket for cooler evenings, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat and a small daypack.

Daily breakfasts and selected dinners are included. Lunches, drinks and other meals are generally at your own expense.

Day 01 :

Arrival in Marrakech

Welcome to Morocco! Upon arrival in Marrakech, you will be transferred to your accommodation. Depending on your arrival time, you can relax or enjoy your first introduction to the city. Your adventure begins with a welcome meeting at 6 pm tonight. In the evening, discover the lively atmosphere of Jemaa el-Fna Square and the surrounding medina.

Day 02 :

Aremd, High Atlas Mountains

Leave Marrakech and travel towards the beautiful High Atlas Mountains and the village of Imlil. Enjoy the changing landscapes as you reach the mountain region. From Imlil 1-hour trek to the peaceful village of Aroumd. continue towards Aremd, a traditional Berber village surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery. Meet local people and discover the traditional way of life in the Atlas Mountains. Spend the night in a local guesthouse.

Day 03 :

Ait Ben Haddou

After breakfast, leave the mountains and travel towards southern Morocco, crossing the spectacular Tizi n'Tichka mountain pass. Enjoy breathtaking views along the journey and stop for photographs. Continue to the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its traditional earthen architecture and historical importance. Explore the old village before spending the night nearby.

Day 04 :

Sahara Desert

Travel towards the Sahara Desert through the changing landscapes of southern Morocco. Pass through Zagoura and continue towards the Draa Valley, famous for its extensive palm groves and traditional kasbahs.Travel through seas of sand and past the occasional desert oasis of date palms to the township of Tamegroute. Here, you’ll visit a library filled with ancient scripts of science, literature and stories of the prophet Mohammed. After, join a local guide to uncover the underground Kasbah. Continue towards the desert region of M'Hamid,From here, you will jump into 4WDs to the massive Erg Chigaga dunes. This is the largest dune in the Moroccan Sahara and one of the less visited. Arrive in the late afternoon, where you’ll get ready for the experience of a lifetime riding on the camel's backs into the Saharan sunset. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and the beautiful colours of the desert at sunset.

Day 05 :

Tata town

Wake up early to enjoy the sunrise over the desert dunes. After breakfast, After breakfast, you’ll jump back into the 4WDs and drive out of the desert, switching to your private vehicle on the way to Tata. On the way, stop at the waterfall of Attiq in Tissint for a refreshing change of scenery. These waterfalls are all saltwater and the translation of Tissint in the local language is salt! When you arrive in Tata mid afternoon, you’ll have a free evening to relax.

Day 06 :

Tafraoute

After breakfast, travel towards Tafraoute, a beautiful town surrounded by the impressive granite mountains of the Anti-Atlas. Enjoy the spectacular scenery along the way, passing traditional villages and dramatic rocky landscapes. Upon arrival, explore the town and enjoy its relaxed atmosphere.

Day 07 :

Tafraoute, Hiking and Berber Culture

Enjoy a guided hike of approximately three hours through the beautiful landscapes surrounding Tafraoute. Discover impressive rock formations, traditional villages and the unique scenery of the Anti-Atlas Mountains. Later, visit a traditional Berber museum to learn more about Amazigh history, culture, clothing and everyday life. Return to Tafraoute for another night.

Day 08 :

Essaouira

Today will be a bit of a long travel day as you head towards the Atlantic and the charming coastal town of Essaouira. You’ll stop at a local woman’s cooperative along the way, which specialises in Argan oil production. This coop provides women and their families in the rural area with extra income for their community, promoting independence. You’ll learn about how the Argan is extracted from the trees, how it’s produced, then you’ll get to try the freshly made Amlou paste. Upon arrival, check into your accommodation and enjoy some free time to explore the medina or relax by the beach.

Day 09 :

Essaouira, Explore with a Local Guide

Discover the history and culture of Essaouira with a local guide. Explore the historic medina, traditional markets, fishing harbour and impressive seaside ramparts. Learn about the town's history and its mix of Moroccan and international influences. Enjoy the rest of the day at your own pace, perhaps trying fresh seafood or walking along the beach.

Day 10 :

Marrakech

After breakfast, we leave towars Marrakech to discover the old Medina with a local guide

Marrakech
